Guatapé is an Andean town east of Medellín. It is known for its colorful homes, its vast man-made Peñol-Guatapé reservoir, but most importantly the Piedra del Peñol, a giant granite rock with 700 steps to the top, where there are sweeping views.

While on the Comuna 13 tour, I bumped into two Irish girls I had met in Cartagena, and we made the day trip together!
